On 23 February 1903, Josephine (age 18, residing Groenfontein) married Spencer Frederick Whilshire van Lelyveld (age 23, born 4 November 1879, Zondagrivier, Dist. Uitenhage, residing Makstruisvogel, Kroonstad).
Spencer Frederick Whilshire van Lelyveld died, age 38 at Wit Deep Gold Mine on 30 January 1918.

3.1 Ilene van Lelyveld, b. 18 April 1904, Makstruisvogel, Dist. Vredefort, Orange River Colony (married Joseph Whitford, b. 9 October 1908, d. 20 September 1972).
3.2 John Philip Victor van Lelyveld b. 30 January 1907, Makstruisvogel, Dist. Vredefort, baptised 16 May 1907, d. 15 September 1927, Boksburg (killed in motorcycle accident – from notes of Dorothy Mitchell)
3.3 Emma van Lelyveld b. 27 October 1908, Makstruisvogel, Dist. Vredfort, (married Oswald Richardson, died age 36. Emma was widowed for 14 years and then married Chris who left her widowed after about 10 years – from notes of Dorothy Mitchell).
3.4 Willshin Spencer (Bill) b. 6 September 1911, baptised 1 April 1912, Sans Souci Farm, near Vierfontein.
Josephine then married Francis Henry Dann (born 6 November 1888, Sidney Street, St Paul, Bedford, and baptised Parish Church of Holy Trinity, Bedford, 2 December 1888), son of Thomas (clerk at the gas works, residing at Sidney Street) and Mary Elizabeth, formerly Hornsby.
Josephine and Frank Dann had 2 children:
3.5 Dorothy Grace Dann, b 5 July 1921, d. 16 April 1998, married Robert James Cordiner Mitchell (b. 30 May 1915, Lossiemouth, Morayshire, Scotland, d. 13 August 1994, Aberdeen, Scotland).
3.6 Thomas Dann, d. age 43
Josephine died 28 October 1945, age 61 of cerebral haemorrhage and hyperpesia. Frank Dann died 26 October 1946, age 58. They are buried in Primrose Cemetery, Germiston.
